Ellen Rose Hayes Wilson, 95, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. A funeral service will be held at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 3p.m. Officiating will be Rodney Barbour and Reverend Rodney Brittain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held after the service in the Church Sanctuary.

She is survived by her son, Fredrick Steve Wilson; daughter Kathy W. Sanders, (Husband), Billy, both of Four Oaks; daughter-in-law, Ann D. Wilson of Four Oaks; grandchildren Michael J. Wilson and (Wife) Vickie, of Clayton. Brandon Z. Wilson and (fiancé) Brittany, William Wood Sanders III, Kathryn E. Sanders and (fiancé) Nathan, all from Four Oaks, NC; great-grandchildren, Zane Wilson, Ayla Wilson, Ava Wilson, Sean Wilson, and Sawyer Hayes Wilson. (Named after the deceased).

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Ruth Hayes, her brother little George Isaac Hayes, and her husband of 44 years Murray Ray Wilson. Her beloved son Michael (Mike) Wilson was lost too soon at the age of 64.

Mrs. Wilson was known for her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was saved at the young age of 14 years old after walking to church and being filled with the Holy Spirit, to the point she let Jesus into her heart where he stayed for as long as she lived. With her big beautiful smile, she allowed people into her heart and home, and was always up to talk with anyone. She was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years and was present every time the church doors were open. She was a member at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church for over 80 years.

We would like to thank Wake Med, Smithfield Hospice, and many precious friends and family for all the prayers that were sent out during this difficult time for our family. She is gone, but will never be forgotten.
