Ellene Jackson

Ellene Jackson was born in Reidsville to the late William and Hazel Jackson on April 15, 1940. She received her wings on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, J.C. and Daniel Jackson and sisters, Gloria and Betty Jean Jackson.

 

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and had several jobs during her working years.

She worked at Roydon Wear, Glenville and Reidsville Nursing Homes, and housekeeping for local families. Before retiring, she was in food service at Reidsville Elementary and Middle Schools.

 

She loved flowers and enjoyed fishing, shopping, music, and dancing.

 

She loved her family and was proud to be a JACKSON. She looked forward to family gatherings and would often visit family members in other towns. She leaves to cherish her memories with her children: Charles and Robert Jackson of Atlanta, Magaret Williams (Maynard) of Tampa, and Necola of Reidsville.  Granddaughter, Whitney Jackson (Calo) of Statesboro and grandsons, Melvin and Andre Browder. Great-grandchildren: Aubri, Jabari, A'Insty, Hazel, D'Andre, Skylor, and Ari. A dear sister, Agnes Jackson of Reidsville. Nephews, Daniel Jr and Mark Jackson of Virginia. Nieces, Alicia Butler of Reidsville, Leebee Butler-Woods and Tlicia Butler of Savannah, a host of cousins and friends.

 

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial in Reidsville. 

 

Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Reidsville with Evangelist Janice Johnson presiding and Rev. Dr. Will White officiating. 

 

Interment will follow the funeral services at Jackson Cemetery in Collins.
