Ellinor K. Reab, 98, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at Tabitha Prairie Commons in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island, with Pastor Dan Brenton officiating. In honoring Ellinor’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ellinor was born November 14, 1927, in Dannebrog, Nebraska, to Jens and Magdalene (Christensen) Henriksen. She grew up rooted in faith, family, and the values that shaped her throughout her 98 years of life.
On May 13, 1949, she married the love of her life, Gene M. Reab, in Grand Island. Ellinor’s faith was central to her life, and together they built a home filled with love and dedication to family. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Free Church and lived out her faith quietly and steadfastly in the way she lived.
Ellinor was blessed with many in her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ron Baxter of Nehawka; daughter-in-law Lesli Reab; her grandchildren, Heather (Josh), Joy (Dan), Carrie (Dan), Dan and Andrew (Abby); her great-grandchildren, Cheyenne (Keith), Gabriel (Rylee), Ryder, Rylliann, Adarae, Evan, Emily, Jameson, and Cameron; and her great-great-grandchildren, Rosalee and Axel; her sisters Mary Jane Durham & Laura Shriner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; her son, Alan; 4 siblings who died young in a house fire, her brother Earl Henriksen and her great-grandsons Zacharaiah & Zephaniah.
Ellinor will be remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. Her legacy lives on in the many generations who were blessed by her love and example.
