Alan Reab Obituary

Alan Dale Reab

July 14, 1956 - October 5, 2025

Alan Dale Reab, 69, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, after facing several years of health challenges that gradually compounded. Although he went too soon, family and loved ones have comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering and is now at peace.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Alan and Leslie's home in Ankeny, Iowa. At a later date, a service will be held in Grand Island, Neb. Details will be shared with family and friends once finalized.

Alan was born July 14, 1956, in Grand Island, Neb., to Gene and Ellinor Reab. He attended high school in Grand Island and college in Lincoln. He was passionate about his career, both at his father's company, The Thompson Company, and Sysco Foods.

Alan cherished his relationship with his mother, Ellinor, and will be remembered for the love and devotion to family and friends, as well as his tremendously dry and wonderful sense of humor.

Alan is survived by his wife, Leslie; his mother, Ellinor; daughter, Carrie (Dan); son, Daniel; son, Andrew (Abby); grandchildren; and sister, Patricia (Ron). He was preceded in death by his father, Gene.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for the exceptional care for Alan during his final days.

To Leslie, Patti, Ellinor, Alan's children and the family, my heart is heavy today knowing you have lost Alan. I have so many happy memories of playing with both Alan and Patti in the basement of their families home in Grand Island. My adult connection with Alan was always joyful. I know he will be greatly missed by all of you.
