Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Ellis Dwayne Carter, age 78, who passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Memorial Health in Savannah. Mr. Carter was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a retired logger.
Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Chitty; and his former wife, Margie Carter.
Surviving is his four children, Ellis Paul Carter (Jessica), Adam Chitty, Tammy Turner (Neal), and Amy Smith (Lowell); five siblings, Edward Carter, Peewee Carter, Ethel Beckworth (Hoyt), Lucy Beckworth, and Elaine Dollar; ten grandchildren, Trent Daniels, Jesse Turner, Dillon Miller, Cameron Carter, Bailey Carter, Emily Smith, Trevor Smith, Brooke Cannon, Taylor Chitty, Jamie Chitty, and David Mosley; thirteen great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. from Midway Church Cemetery with Reverend Doug Wiesel and Reverend Glenn Bohannon officiating.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel.
Active Pallbearers will be Taylor Chitty, Bill Cannon, Trent Daniels, Justin Carter, Dillon Miller, David Mosley, Cameron Carter, and Jimmy Carter.
Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Mr. Ellis Dwayne Carter.
