Elma Fernandes

Elma Fernandes, 57, of Oakdale, North Fayette Township, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born on February 20, 1968, in Mumbai, India, Elma was the daughter of Elvira Fernandes and the late Mathew Fernandes.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish. Elma was committed to her faith, to her family and friends and was always available for the needs of those who reached out to her.
She reflected the spirituality and strength of her mother throughout her life.
Elma was a CPA and a Manager at Deloitte Business Management Consultant Co. She enjoyed her job and never considered it work. Talented in the arts and crafts, Elma enjoyed sewing and playing the guitar; as an avid shopper, she enjoyed decorating her home tastefully for all seasons. Elma also enjoyed watching movies and reading a good book.
She is survived by her siblings, Elia (Kelvin) Netto, Merrill (Sumedha) Fernandes, Elaine (Jaideep) Kulkarni, Melford (Sharon) Fernandes, nieces and nephews - Leanne (Ashton), Divya, Shania, Nathan and Danielle, great nephews and niece - Lucas, Tyler and Hailey.
Elma drew great strength from her faith and had unwavering belief in God which was seen through her resilience and acceptance of God's will. Elma will continue to be an inspiration to those around her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish – St. Columbkille Church, Imperial, Pennsylvania, USA.
