Elma Leitch Obituary
Elma Jean "Jean" Leitch, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully, in her home, on September 10, 2025, at the age of 85. Jean, as she was known, was born in Toledo, Ohio. She was raised by her grandparents, Arah and Samuel Birdwell, in Red Boiling Springs, TN.
After finishing high school at Hermitage Springs High School, she moved back to Toledo and worked at Chase Bag and Kaiser Aluminum. Later, she worked with her husband at a business they opened in the automotive field. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her grandkids, and almost more than anything else, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes play football.
Jean will forever be cherished by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph; children, Tammie (Jim Engle) Hoyt, Joey (Rachel Roggelin) Leitch, Shawn (Toni) Leitch, Jean (Mike Janiszewski) Leitch; grandchildren, Jaime, Nikeia, and Amber Martin, Amanda Gongora and Mark Hoyt, Spencer and Ashton Leitch, Cameron and Connor Leitch, and Mikey Janiszewski; brother, Samuel Holmes; and special cousin, Valle Ann Reecer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Valle Kimble; daughter, Tina Martin; grandson, Johnny Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Howard (Gaynell) Holmes; sister-in-law, Judy Holmes; and dear cousin, Michael Roberts.
As per her request, no funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
