Elma E. Marzilli

Elma E. Marzilli 92 of Portland, Passed away on September 30, 2023, with her family by her side.
Elma was born in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of Elmer F. and Catherine (Crockett) Edwards. Elma graduated from Lewison High School Class of 1949. As a child, she spent many wonderful days at her grandparents' home in Danville Junction. She met the love of her life, Antonio Marzilli, on a blind date on August 16, 1950. They were married in Arce, Italy in 1954. They raised their family in Portland, Maine. They loved to take day trips to Boston, country rides, and apple picking with their children. She looked forward to having the children and grandchildren over for Sunday dinners and hosting all the holiday meals. Elma and her husband traveled often to Italy as well as other trips with their family, but they most loved being home with their children and grandchildren. Elma enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a lifetime member at the Italian Heritage Center where she attended many dinner dances and enjoyed playing Bocce.
Elma was predeceased by her parents, her husband Antonio, sister Mary Morse, brother Nelson Edwards.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her three children, Daughter Lisa Marzilli her husband Bernardo of Newton Ma, Daughter Vincenza (Vicki) Dunn her husband Jack of Portland, Son Vincenzo Marzilli his Fiancé Heather Kirk, of Windham, her brother Burt (Nancy) Edwards of South Portland.

12 Great Grandchildren, Lorenzo, Chiara, Chloe, Finn, Domenic, Gioia, Brayden, Lucas, Jordan, Landon, Jack, Julianna
She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and sister-in-law Maria Marzilli (wife of Rocco).
The family would like to thank with all our hearts, the staff of Pinnacle Health in South Portland. They always went above and beyond with compassion and care of our mom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, October 5th at St. Peter's Catholic Church followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland, Thursday prior to Mass from 8:30-9:30am.
