Elma Frances (Ackerman) Milliken of Bentonville went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 2, 2025, two days before her 94th birthday, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on November 4, 1931, in Brewster, Kansas to Henry and Ella Pauline Ackerman, who preceded her in death.
Frances was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church of Bentonville. She attended Decatur High School and graduated from Sequoyah School of Nursing in Fayetteville in 1960. In her 40-year nursing career, she was privileged to work in multiple departments including the Nursery, Surgery, Labor and Delivery, and General Nursing, at Bates Memorial Hospital. She was also the office nurse for D. L. Cohagan, MD and Arkins Medical Clinic. Frances also enjoyed tending to the residents at Bentonville Manor and Innisfree in Rogers. She was very caring and all her patients loved her.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Linda Sue Milliken; her son, Billy Wayne Milliken; her brothers, Buddy, Rolla, Wayne, Edward, and Johnny Ackerman; her sisters, Irene Owens, Elaine Tillman, and Mary Tipton; the father of her children, Murel Dean Milliken and her second husband, William "Bill" Elkins.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Dean Milliken (June); her daughter-in-law, Elaine Milliken; one sister, Catherine (Glenn) Pettus; grandsons, Dan Milliken, Sean Milliken, Matt Milliken, James Milliken, and Joe Milliken; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
