Elmer C. Butler, 90, of Midlothian, Texas, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, in Waxahachie. He was born June 16, 1935, in Maypearl, Texas, to E.C. Butler and Lilli York Butler. Elmer was a proud Ellis County native through and through and carried that small town grit with him his entire life.
Elmer dedicated more than 25 years of hard work to Taylor Evans and Golden Acres Seed, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and quiet consistency. He believed in showing up, doing the job right, and taking pride in honest work. He was a longtime member of Farley Street Baptist Church, now known as Pathways, where his faith was an important part of his life. Elmer was also a devoted member of the Free Masons for 60 years, valuing fellowship, service, and tradition.
Above all else, Elmer loved his family. He was a steady presence, a man of few words but deep loyalty, and someone you could always count on. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Bettie Lue Butler; his children, Daphne and Duke Ostrander of Waxahachie, Kyle and Robin Butler of Midlothian, and Myra and Matthew Ballard of Waxahachie; his eleven grandchildren, Brody, Whitney, Kassi, Dakota, Kollin, Rafe, Rhett, Ridge, Mattie, Molly, and Macee; and his great grandchildren, Korrie, Holden, Kendall, Presley, Maeleigh, Brazos, Legacy Tyler, Haze, Kinny, Tru, Indi, Wyld Elmer, Fox, Jess, and Ellis.
