Elmer Leroy "Butch" Masimore Jr.

Elmer " Butch" Leroy Masimore Jr. passed away in his home on December 13, 2025, at the age of 80. Butch was born in Reisterstown, Maryland at home on May 12, 1945, to the late Elmer Leroy Masimore Sr. and Alice Virginia Murray. He was the husband of Patricia Olive Masimore who passed in 2009, his wife of 43 years.

Butch went into the army and served in Vietnam. He was a patriotic man and proud to serve his country. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and worked for the Baltimore County School system for over 30 years. Butch loved to play golf and joined Maple Run Golf course in Thurmont, Maryland. He kept busy with golf tournaments. He also had a passion for playing the guitar. He was a faithful man and attended Solley United Methodist Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He is remembered for giving to a lot of charities and fondly remembered by his children.

In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by his son in law Mark Gillen, in 2001. He is also predeceased by his sisters Virginia "Ginny" Masimore and Patsy West.

Butch is survived by his son Duane Masimore and daughter-in-law Linda of York, Pennsylvania, daughter and son-in-law Patricia Masimore-Gillen and Byron Walter of Baltimore, Maryland. He is survived by many other loving friends and family, and a special friend; Arlene Metheny.

Funeral services will be held at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, Maryland. A visitation will be held on Friday December 19, 2025, from 9:30 - 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
