Mary Elmira McAnally Clark, 95, of Grenada, died on June 21 at her home surrounded by family.
Elmira was born in Tishomingo County in 1929 to Kelly McAnally and Mae Millsaps McAnally, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Lloyd T. Binford High School in Duck Hill in 1947 and from the Grenada School of Nursing in 1950.
She was married to Charles Howard Clark for 61 years, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada for over 60 years.
Elmira worked as a registered nurse her entire adult life in Grenada, a career she deeply loved and treasured. She first became a registered nurse at the age of 21 and held a nursing license for nearly 70 years.
Throughout her nursing career, she worked for the Grenada County Hospital, Dr. Sam Carruthers, Dr. Bernard Hunt, Dr. Robert Townes, Dr. Durward Harrison Jr., the Grenada County Health Department, National Industrial Constructors Inc. and Newsprint South.
Elmira always enjoyed the many stories that people would share with her about the time she brought them comfort while bandaging a wound, administering a shot, or helping deliver their children.
She is preceded in death by five brothers: Hearl McAnally, Lurle McAnally, Molene McAnally, G.C. McAnally, and Billy Kay McAnally; and two sisters: Mavorine Bruce and Ola Mae Mitchell. She is also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Jeff Vance.
She is survived by three children: Emily Clark Vineyard (John) of Pontotoc, Melinda Clark of Grenada, and Leigh Clark Vance of Grenada; a sister, Brenda Vance (Charles) of Carroll County; four grandsons: Clark Vineyard (Misty) of Pontotoc, Christopher Vineyard (Stephanie) of Pontotoc, Chase Tidmore of Huntsville, Alabama, and Taylor Vance of Jackson; and five great-grandchildren: Lucas Vineyard, Carter Vineyard, Westin Vineyard, Ruby-Lin Vineyard and Ella Jane Vineyard.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Harold "Fuzzy" Clark (Margaret) of Grenada, her sister-in-law Sissy Clark Goodwin of Lakeland, Tennessee, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, at 3:00 p.m. at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with the Rev. Dennis McAnally officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, June 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the Monday service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada, Gideons International, or a charity of your choice.
The pallbearers will be Clark Vineyard, Christopher Vineyard, Chase Tidmore, Taylor Vance, Lucas Vineyard, and Carter Vineyard.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Adoration Hospice for the care they provided to our mother and grandmother.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada, (662-307-2694).

I loved your mama soooo much. As many times as I spent the night at ya´lls house I truly loved her like my own mama! And your sisters were my sisters! She was truly the strongest hardest working most talented woman I knew. She lived a wonderful, very long life and I know she is with Jesus now and we WILL see her again! Praying for all of you girls and all your families! I love you! Kathy Mansfield
