Elsie Chambers Obituary
Born November 12, 1935 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Martin Trushell and Anna Rosalie Grace Trushell.
Elsie was a 1954 graduate of Scio High School. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia, the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, the Uhrichsville Moose, and lifetime member of the New Philadelphia VFW.
Her husband, Leroy W. Chambers, died April 12, 1996. They were married June 18, 1955.
Surviving are six sons: Leroy (Sharon) Chambers of Dennison, Donald (Lorraine) Chambers of Spokane, Washington, William (Vicki) Chambers of Columbus, Larry Chambers of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brian (Elena) Chambers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Richard Chambers of New Philadelphia; two sisters: Sylvia Albright of Conotton, Freeda (Kenneth) Shultz of Canton; two brothers: Daniel (Hazel) Trushell of New Philadelphia and Paul (Martha) Trushell of Scio; eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law (Larry's wife) Sharon Chambers; and five sisters: Mildred Kraus, Marie Case, Sara Case, Mary Ann Riggs, and Thelma DeWire.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. The services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon, Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Koch Funeral Home, 244 North Walnut Street, Gnadenhutten with Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, 1926 Saltwell Road, Dover Ohio 44622
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia in her memory as thanks for the awesome care they provided for Elsie and her family.
Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport was entrusted with arrangements.
