Leroy Earl Boyce, age 80, of 132 Kirk Street, Holloway went home to be with the Lord at 10:48 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 in WVU Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, West Virginia after a series of complications after hip surgery.

He was born November 21, 1944 in Brazil, Indiana, a son of the late Alva Leroy Boyce and Althea Lucille Shofer Boyce.

Leroy was a 1962 graduate of Van Buren High School in Harmony, Indiana.

He retired after working thirty-seven years as a train engineer from CSX Railroad in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Leroy was a member of the Holloway Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason at the Flushing Masonic Lodge #298, a member of the Flushing Legion, the Lafferty Moose, the Cadiz Eagles. He was active with the Holloway Old Timer's Association and was the Grand Marshall for the parade in 2024. He also enjoyed restoring classical cars and going to car shows.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Sue Singer Boyce, who died March 6, 2019, and their son, Rick Lee Boyce who died January 24, 2023.

Surviving is his fiancé of four years, Carolyn Sue Pritchard of Parkersburg, West Virginia; two granddaughters: Allyson (Chase) Farmer and Kaitlyn (Jason) Japikse; six great-grandchildren; special daughters: Paula (Alan) Taylor, Kimberly Smith, and Brenda (Jeff) Morgan; and several special grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends: Buck and Brandy Myers, Dave, Brad, and Deeter; and his German Shepherd grand-dog companion, Major.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 in the funeral home with Pastor Jon Little officiating. Burial will follow in Nottingham Cemetery in Moorefield Township, Cadiz, Ohio.

Leroy requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in his memory to Holloway Methodist Church.
