Elsie Lois Davidson

Elsie Lois Davidson peacefully took the hand of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2025, as she made her joyful journey home. Born on September 24, 1929, in Highfill, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Henry and Pearl Davis Ennis. Her family farmed, and Elsie would walk with her brothers and sisters to attend the one-room Logan Special School and the Highfill School. Her family moved to California during her teenage years to follow the fruit harvest.

Returning to Arkansas, she met and married William Garland Davidson after the Sunday morning service on July 29, 1947, at the Assembly of God Church in Gentry, AR. Their 40-year marriage was blessed with three sons: Johnny (Carolyn), Billy (Colleen), and Randy (Charlyn).

Elsie took pride in raising chickens and worked as a cook in area school cafeterias for many years. She was also a skilled seamstress who loved sewing and creating crafts as gifts for her family. Elsie’s true passion was camping and trout fishing, which became a family tradition each summer alongside her brothers James (Mae) Ennis and Charles (Frances) Ennis, and her sisters Nona (Don) Evans, Wilda (Paul) McChristian and Virginia (Troy) McClellan.

A lifetime member of the Assemblies of God Church, Elsie remained faithful until her health prevented her from attending. She was strong and independent. After the death of her beloved husband Bill, Elsie celebrated life by traveling, pulling her camper to the lake with her sister Virginia, and camping with her family.

At the age of 84, a debilitating stroke brought an end to Elsie’s active years. She became homesick for heaven, where she would joyfully reunite with her husband Bill, her parents, daughter-in-law Luella, and departed brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Elsie leaves behind her seven grandchildren: Shawn (Hannah) Davidson, Billy (Tina) Davidson, Valerie Davidson, Richey (Nikki) Davidson, Melissa (Chad) Barton, Elizabeth (Heath) Thompson, and Crystal (Joshua) Riley. She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews with whom she will someday be joyously reunited.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, AR.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, AR. Burial will be in the Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, AR.
