Elton E. Sperry Jr., 83, of Tolland and formerly of Marlborough, beloved husband to the late Carol Ann (Carrier) Sperry, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1941, in Hartford, one of four children to Elton E. Sperry, Sr. and Catherine G. Lee Dennis.
Elton grew up in Vernon and was a graduate of Rockville High School. Following high school, Elton proudly served his country with the United States Army until his honorable discharge in March of 1966. Upon returning home, he held various jobs and positions, most notably his longtime career with the Town of Marlborough. Elton was a longtime member of the Marlborough American Legion and was very involved in their events and gatherings. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time in his boat deep sea fishing, as well as scuba diving off the coast.
Elton is survived by his son, Mark Sperry; his grandchildren, Eryn and Shane Sperry; his great-grandson, Clint; his sister, Vera Berube and her husband Joel Berube Sr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, John "Jackie" and Charlton "Buddy" Sperry.
