Elva Castillo Gonzalez, age 67, passed away on February 24, 2026. Elva was born on January 25, 1959, to David and Nancy Castillo. She attended Mary Carroll High School.
Elva was a homemaker, who will be remembered for her devotion to family and love for sports, especially the Houston Texans. She will also be remembered for her tamale making, thoughtfulness, and for being festive.
She enjoyed gambling in Vegas, bunco, playing dominos and Spanish bingo. Elva was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and cousin.
Elva is preceded in death by her father, David Castillo, maternal and paternal grandparents and nephew, Ricky Castillo.
Elva is survived by her children, Evaristo Gonzalez, Jr., Esmeralda Nora Gonzalez, and Ruby Gonzalez, grandchildren, Aaron Lopez, Alexis Lopez, Nick Gonzalez and Jean (Eliana) Gonzalez, great-grandchildren, Derek Gonzalez and Austin Lopez, brothers and sisters, Maria (Rolando) Gonzalez, David (Delfia) Castillo, Jessie Castillo, Joe (Sandra) Castillo, Alfredo (Marivel) Castillo and Juan (Michelle) Castillo, nieces, Karen Castillo, Ashley Gonzalez, Peyton Castillo and Therese Castillo, nephews, Rolando Gonzalez, Jr., Alejandro Gonzalez, David Castillo III, Daniel Castillo, Jessie Castillo, Jr., Austin Castillo, Marcus Castillo, Blake Castillo, Dalton Castillo and Zachariah Castillo, several great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Guadalupe section.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Aaron Lopez, Nick Gonzalez, Zachariah Castillo, Marcus Castillo, Austin Castillo and Ernest Flores.
