Elwood J. Eby “Woody”, age 80, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his home in Quincy Village. Born May 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Allan and Naomi (Showalter) Eby.
He and his wife, Sharon (Horst) Eby were married May 7, 1966, just now shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Woody was a graduate of North Hagerstown High in 1963. He then worked in agricultural sales most of his life, including Maugansville Elevator, White Oak Mills, and Martin’s Elevator. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church. He enjoyed hunting with lifetime friends, playing golf, tennis and pickleball. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, supporting his grandchildren’s sporting activities and love of sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Jeremy and wife Cherish (Bonebrake) Eby and Mindy (Eby) Barnhart and husband Eric (Petey) Barnhart, both of Greencastle, PA; five grandchildren, Grace Eby, Jackson Eby, Camden Eby, Luke Barnhart, and Brooklyn Barnhart all of Greencastle, PA; two sisters, Thelma (Ken) Martin and Wanda (Dale) Horst; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Richard and Donald Eby, and one sister Arlene (Eby) Bear.
