Elyn Jean Carabello

Elyn Jean Carabello, 69, of Reading, passed away Sunday, January 24th, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.

Elyn was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1956, a daughter of the late Olga (Bernack) and Theodore P. Rysz, Sr. She graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, a field that reflected her lifelong commitment to service and advocacy for others.

She shared four decades of marriage and partnership with her beloved husband, Noel "Chris" Carabello, building a home rooted in care, stability, and enduring love. Elyn was a loving and devoted mother, and embraced both her children and stepchildren with the same warmth, presence, and support.

Elyn cherished time with family and friends and held traditions close to her heart. She especially loved annual family vacations to Bethany Beach, which became some of her most treasured memories. She was also known for hosting beloved Christmas Eve gatherings, opening her home to welcome family and friends in celebration of the holidays.

Professionally, Elyn co-founded ETI (Employment Technology Inc.) with her husband, Chris, and brother, Ted Rysz, establishing a supported employment agency serving individuals with disabilities across multiple counties. Her work reflected her long-standing commitment to inclusion, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Throughout her life, Elyn was a devoted caregiver, offering years of support to family members during times of illness and challenge. Her strength was quiet, her service consistent, and her care unwavering.

Elyn is leaving behind a life defined by generosity, devotion, and unconditional love for family and community. Elyn is survived by her husband Noel Carabello; her children Elyse Carabello and Noel Carabello; her stepchildren Jocelyn Boettner and Justin Carabello; her grandchildren Asher and Dariana Boettner; her siblings Ted Rysz and and Lisa Wieckowski; and many extended family members and friends who loved her deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 1PM - 3PM at Sanders Funeral Home, 1501 North 11th Street, Reading, Pennsylvania. Online condolences may be made at www.sandersfuneral.com.
