Elyse Alexandra Childress

Elyse Alexandra Childress was born July 17th 1993 in Woodheaven, MI. She was one of three children born to William Childress and Janet (Hanlon) Childress. At six months old the family moved to Ann Arbor where she lived her entire life. Elyse attended Saline Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating with the class of 2011. She continued her education earning two degrees from WCC. She recently enrolled in WGU and was working toward a degree in education.
Elyse's passions included singing and music, her artwork, and her love for animals, but most of all her love for her family. So dear to her was the precious time she spent with her life partner Adam. She so enjoyed Broadway in Detroit or a trip to the DIA with her niece and nephews. She was always there for them to play video games, help build Legos, supervise crafts and homework, and be their confidant in times of need. We are all blessed to have had her warm spirit in our lives. Words cannot express how deeply and profoundly we will miss her quick wit and wicked sense of humor.
Elyse passed away at UofM Hospital on October 31st, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Gone too soon, left to cherish her time with us, she leaves her parents; William and Janet Childress of Ann Arbor, her beloved life partner; Adam Britton of Milan, siblings; Ashley (David) Ferree of Dexter, Blake Childress of Ann Arbor, niece and nephews; Lexi, Zach, Will and Logan Ferree.
A private service will be held for Elyse at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home. Donations in Elyse's name may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, P.O.
