Emanuel Kosanke Obituary
Emanuel "Byron" Kosanke, Jr., 88, of Bunker Hill, Indiana passed away on September 5, 2023 at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on June 9, 1935 in Fredonia, North Dakota. Emanuel graduated from Lowell High School in 1953 and served in the United States Air Force upon graduation until 1957.
On August 16, 1958, he married Sally Hawkins Kosanke (survives) and shared four daughters together. Their daughter, Gail Ekstrom (Roger) precedes him in death. Their daughters Kelly Petri (Mark), Penny Kosanke (Kurt), and Amy Watson (Jon), survive. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Emanuel worked most of his life as a car salesman and retired from Button Motors in Kokomo. He also served on the Bunker Hill town board for eight years. Emanuel was a devoted family man who was known for his fun-loving sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards, working in his yard and making breakfast for his family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church 279 West Broadway, Bunker Hill, Indiana. A dinner will follow.
