So I have thought about my friend and let it sink in for almost week.
My memory is fairly recent and just 2 summers back.
I hadn't seen Em in 35 years, Since Chemawa days. But, had been friends on Facebook since it started.
We had both been struggling with loss of our family and love ones.
I didn't know how to help but to take him to Sundance. We would talk and he said maybe it would help.
He wasn't working when July came around. So I swooped him up....
We drove all night, making it to the prairies of SD as the sun rose for the day. The Prayers were strong, the sun beat down all day. The songs were healing as they prayed for the people.
We slept on the prairie, with coyote's yipping and howling in the distance.
Em hadn't camped or experienced anything of the sort in a stretch....
On the way home we broke down with a fuel sensor going out. We were safe in a town with hotel, food and a mechanic. We were up and on the road shortly after. I believe the creator made things happen to show him that even his worst fears were not that bad.
We talked and prayed together for several days. I hope he was able to heal some from that journey.

Hey Emerson, maaaan I shall miss you. I will always always be grateful for a daily visits, even if it was for you to "vent" as you say. I always told you, hey...ya gotta let it out...no problem. I thank you for December and March. Grandson, Honey Boy, sure took to you quick juuust babbling away to you, all happy. It was good to see you smile and hear your laughs. Honey Boy knows good people when he meets them. I thank you for all the memories, visits, laughter, serious talks, heart to heart talks. You always made my day. YOU are one of a kind, your words of encouragement, the you're conscience moments, the it'll be ok moments (while I traveled in snow storms and life's storms). Your words of wisdom, you had sooo much wisdom. You struggled, I know. I am so glad we were there for one another. I'm glad we got to spend time.
I'll forever miss you.
I pray you're at peace now and truly happy.
I looked back on my messages, the last time I got a message from you was April 27th @ 8:23pm, then you fell silent. It was a lazy day that day and it was.
May you rest easy now in God's arms.
I love you always my guy.
