Emil Balusek Obituary
Emil P. Balusek Jr., age 69, of Trumbull, CT, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, in St. Vincent's Medical Center.
He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Emil and Stella Balusek Sr. For 36 years, he worked his dream job at Sikorsky Aircraft, as an aircraft rescue fire fighter and served as the training lieutenant. He was a volunteer firefighter for Nichols Fire Department since the age of 16. Emil was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman. He volunteered as a board member for the Seymour Fish and Game Club, the Newtown Fish and Game Club, and the former Stamford Fish and Game Club, Inc. He was a proud member of the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters (BARF).
Emil is survived by his beloved wife and confidante of 13 years, Anne Cottle, his brother, Brian Balusek and his wife, Ann, and nieces, Meryl, Beth and Gwen Balusek. He will be greatly missed by his loyal hunting dogs, Zeke and Axel. Emil cherished his brother firefighters, fellow club members, his precious cousins and countless friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday, June 28. 2024, at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Burial to follow in Nichols Village Cemetery.

Condolences for your loss.
I worked with Emil in the late 80's at Sikorsky Aircraft FD in Bridgeport and enjoyed working with him.
He would always make himself available for any training needed.
When I returned to Sikorsky in the Security Department in 2013 Emil would stop by when I was on post to say hi.
I was sad to hear that he had passed.

Wow! is all I can say. I have known you all of my 44 years of life as my mother was your hairdresser & best friend. You have been like an Uncle to me and such a great best friend to my mom! Your loss has hit home deeply. The time I was going to be a Judicial Marshal and I took a fall down my 8 steps on ice you paid for my chiropractor visit ahead of time as they did not take my insurance. You paid my way and would not let me pay you back. I will never forget how generous you were to my mother and me. You always had that smile on your face every time you came over. You always interacted with the dogs and said they will be fine and that you could take them for a week and they would be straightened out and laughed. Your laugh was so contagious, your talks about life were amazing and I will never forget your advise about how to keep pushing forward. Your loss is a hard one and I will never forget you ever!!! Who ever you came in contact with was so lucky to have been in your presence as you were just an amazing man!! I love you Uncle Emil and my condolences to all family members. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I knew Emil from Sikorsky. I was in the Security Department and he in the Fire Department. We often interacted on the job and had many conservations. I was so sad to hear of his passing
