Emil Lee Doddroe, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Copper Knoll Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on October 10, 1937 in Madison County to the late Emil and Maxine (O'Brien) Doddroe. He was a graduate of Mount Sterling High School. Emil retired from Armco Steel where he had worked as a welder for thirty-plus years. He was a long time member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and a past member of the Washington CH Elks #129. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, playing pool, and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, Emil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Zola (Hooks) Doddroe, whom he married on July 11, 1959; and siblings, Jo Lynn Doddroe, and Ned Doddroe.
Survivors include his children, Jeff (Amy) Doddroe, and Tammie (Randy) Wilson; grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Clouse, Adam (Melissa) Doddroe, Cody (Kristen) Doddroe, Nickolas (Lexi Garcia) Doddroe, Eric (Angel) Wilson, Jenna (Joshua Watson) Wilson, and Brian (Savanah) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ben, Hannah, Logan, Laura, Leigha, Hailey, RJ, Jase, Emilee, Reed, Alicia, Ebelin, Eduardo, Estella, Stephanie, Noah, Wayde, Norah, and Major; and siblings, Alan (Carol) Doddroe, and Bert Doddroe. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held to honor both Emil and Zola Doddroe at the Good Hope Cemetery on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Danny Dodds officiating.
