Emil J. Izzo

Emil J. Izzo, age 92 of Highland Lakes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 at the Milford Manor in West Milford.
Born in Paterson to the late Anthony and Elvira (Matone) Izzo, Emil grew up there prior to settling in Highland Lakes in 1950. A veteran of the US Navy, Emil worked for PSEG in Oakland for over forty years; retiring as a supervisor. Emil joined the Highland Lakes Volunteer Fire Department in April of 1963, and was their longest living member. His dedication to the department earned him the rank of Charter Member. Emil also enjoyed golf, gardening, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Predeceased by his wife, Joan (Kingsbury) Izzo and his brother, Nicholas Izzo, Emil is survived by his loving daughters, Deborah Moran and her husband Robert of Felton, DE, Cindy Kannon and husband Michael of Warwick, NY, and Lori Quirk of New Hampshire; sons Mark Izzo and wife Lorri of Highland Lakes, Matthew Izzo and wife Vickie of Newport News, VA, George Shaw and wife Elizabeth of Milford, PA, Daniel Shaw of Franklin, NJ, and Roy Shaw and wife Sherrie of Tabb, VA; as well as his eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Emil will be held on Monday, January 2nd, 2023, from 4-8PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS) 241, Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 3rd, 10AM at the Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Highland Lakes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Highland Lakes Fire Department.
