Ann (Barbiero) Izzo, 92, of Hamden, CT died peacefully at her home on Monday, February 16, 2026. She was the beloved wife of seventy one years to Nicholas Frank Izzo. Ann was born in New Haven on March 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Paul and Theresa (Marchitto) Barbiero and had resided in Hamden for the past forty years, previously residing in Cheshire for fourteen years. Ann was an administrative assistant in the retail services industry for many years, including the WACO Scaffolding Co. of Cheshire for more than ten years and most recently Belle Cheveux Salon of Cheshire for fifteen years. Ann was all about her family, and was their true matriarch. She truly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved traveling and going on cruises.

In addition to her husband Nicholas, Ann is survived by her daughter Geraldine (James) Izzo Coury and her son Mark G. (Ann) Izzo both of Cheshire, a brother, Paul (Gloria) Barbiero of North Haven, four grandchildren, Sarah (Christopher) Morin, Emily (Matthew) Mues, Rachel (Kevin) Bellagamba and Jaclyn (Samuel) DeVylder, two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Vivian Morin , and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Carlo and Peter Barbiero.

Ann's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Thursday, February 19th at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Paul VI Parish),2819Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
