Emil Sellong Sr.

1937 - 2025

Emil Sellong Sr., 87, of Ligonier, passed away Sept. 25, 2025, in the Harmon House Health and Rehab Center. He was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Uniontown, a son of the late John and Anna (Dursa) Sellong. Emil was retired after working as a skilled trade welder. He was a good baseball player, which gave him the opportunity for a tryout with the Baltimore Orioles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Emil is survived by his children, Emil Sellong Jr., Doug Sellong, Donnie Sellong (Sonya), and Deborah Spaw; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Michael, Melissa, Ethan, Morgan, and Justin; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Emil is preceded in death by his children, Danette Ritz and Daniel Sellong, and his brother, William Sellong. Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, in the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, Ligonier, where a Catholic blessing service will be celebrated at 2 p.m. mccabefuneralhomespa.com.
