Emilia Botello passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on July 1, 1946, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to Zacarias and Carmen Botello, Emilia's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and tradition.
Emilia's journey led her from her birthplace in Mexico to the heart of Texas, where she became the cornerstone of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Zacarias and Carmen. Emilia's legacy continues through her loving children, Ana Laura Villarreal, Martha Patricia Valenzuela, and Jose Antonio Pena. Her spirit will forever be cherished by her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Emilia is also survived by six sisters and one brother, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family members and friends.
A master of crafts, Emilia found joy in creating beauty with her hands, a skill she lovingly shared with her family. Her home was an open door to all she was always delighted in hosting a large dinner for her family, a tradition that will continue, but will never be the same without our dear Mama at the table.
Emilia's love for cooking and baking was only surpassed by her devotion to her children and grandchildren. She was the epitome of a loving, kind, and thoughtful soul, whose gentle presence was a comfort to all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished as a blessing, and her influence will continue to be felt through the generations.
As we bid farewell to Emilia Botello, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of the love and warmth that she so freely gave. Her spirit, characterized by generosity and compassion, will remain an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her life. Emilia's story is one of unwavering love and the enduring bonds of family, a story that will be told with fondness and admiration for years to come.

Emilia Botello falleció en paz el 4 de octubre de 2025 en San Antonio, Texas, a la edad de 79 años. Nacida el 1 de julio de 1946 en Nuevo Laredo, México, hija de Zacarías y Carmen Botello, la vida de Emilia fue un testimonio del poder perdurable del amor, la familia y la tradición.
Su trayectoria la llevó desde su México natal hasta el corazón de Texas, donde se convirtió en la piedra angular de su familia. Le precedieron en la muerte sus queridos padres, Zacarías y Carmen. El legado de Emilia continúa a través de sus queridos hijos, Ana Laura Villarreal, Martha Patricia Valenzuela y José Antonio Peña. Su espíritu será recordado por siempre por sus ocho nietos y seis bisnietos, quienes fueron la luz de su vida. A Emilia también le sobreviven seis hermanas y un hermano, además de numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, primos y numerosos familiares y amigos.
