Emilia Tribuiani

Obituary of Emilia Tribuiani 1937-2019 Emilia Tribuiani, 82, of Broomall, PA, died Sunday, September 1, 2019. Emilia was born in Tortoreto, a coastal town in the province of Teramo, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. She was the oldest daughter of the late Biagio and Lucia Firmani and was predeceased by her sisters, Elena Firmani and Maria Flocco. She married Francesco Tribuiani, also of Tortoreto, on January 7, 1957 in Italy. She was predeceased by her husband who died in 1992. Emilia emigrated to the United States on April 4, 1968, joining other family members who had already settled in the greater Philadelphia region. Emilia proudly became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1975. Before moving to Broomall, Emilia lived in Upper Darby, PA for almost 30 years raising her family. After arriving from Italy, Emilia worked as a seamstress at a factory in Philadelphia. She was later employed as a custodian at Villanova University for twenty plus years until her retirement. Through her sons, Emilia became an avid fan of Villanova basketball, the Eagles and the Phillies. When Emilia moved to Broomall, she became a parishioner of St. Anastasia Church. Emilia was a devout Catholic, regularly attending Mass at St. Anastasia and, in her later years, praying the rosary daily. Emilia was an excellent cook and baker. She was very social and welcoming and particularly enjoyed making cookies, pastries and cakes for her friends and family. She cherished her family and loved to have them over for Sunday dinner, where she served homemade pasta, meatballs and gravy. She enjoyed gardening and growing her own herbs and vegetables to use in her recipes. Emilia is survived by two sons, Giacinto (Brenda) of Newtown Square, PA and Roberto (Jeannine) of Yardley, PA, and is predeceased by her son, Luciano (Laurie) formerly of Middletown, NJ; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Domenic, Tiffany, Taylor, Francesca and Kristina; one great-grandchild, Annabelle; her brother-in-law, Antonio Flocco and sister-in-law, Evelina Sprollini as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Friday Evening, September 6, 2019, 6-8 P.M. at The D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008 and again on Saturday Morning at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 from 9A.M. – 9:45A.M. followed by her Christian Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will be private. Twice each year, Emilia joyfully anticipated watching her grandson, Domenic, perform with the Melmark Players theatre group.
