"She was a Pike County Diamond, dug out of the dirt, but never polished."
Oh Ruth was polished alright.
She stood for the Lord and was never ashamed of it.
She told me once many many years ago, when I was giving her an excuse about why I couldn't do such and such.
She looked at me and she said, "Linda, you only get out of church what you put into it."
You know what I said......"Yes Mamm" and shut my mouth, and from then on had no excuse for not serving the Lord.
Oh she was polished alright....her beauty was not totally on the outside, it was deep in her heart and soul.
That polish was the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about old friends from the past, that she outlived.
The sparkle in her eyes when she talked about what the Lord had done in her and Bro. Jimmy's lives.
I treasure the many conversations we have had over the years since she set me straight.....lol
Ruth will be missed by many young kids, who are now senior citizens themselves.
She will be receiving all her rewards in the near future, and I know the Lord will welcome her into His loving arms.
Praying for my friend and mentor, to make this wonderful transition to her eternal heavenly home with the grace that only the Lord can administer
From a Loving Friend "Linda"
