Emily Harrell Hengel Obituary
Emily had a generous spirit and was passionate about helping others. She spent her life surrounded by family and friends. In recent years, Emily found new joy and companionship at Nans Pointe. There, she enjoyed spending her days playing bingo and dominoes with friends, sharing laughter and stories.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Tristrim and Emily Harrell; her first husband, David A. Hengel; her son, William "Andy" Hengel; her second husband, Fred W. Hengel; and two grandsons, Justin Russell and Frank Manning.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Peggie (Ernest) Anderson; sister-in-law, Connie (Gayle) Culpepper; daughters, Susan (Duane) Outlaw, Emily B. Hengel, Meeche Manning, and Becky (Glenn) Russell; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many cherished family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local food pantry. Arrangements are being handled by R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, North Suffolk Chapel. A private burial will take place on a later date.
