EMILY BALDONI Obituary

EMILY JEAN BALDONI
February 18, 1934 - April 9, 2025
Emily Jean Baldoni, lovingly known as Jeannie, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by her devoted family.
She was born on February 18, 1934, in Franklin, North Carolina, to Homer and Myrtle Nichols. Jeannie now joins her beloved husband, Marion "Tom" Baldoni, who preceded her in death in 2018. Jeannie and Tom were married on October 13, 1955, and together built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family.
She is survived by her four children: James Baldoni (Julie), Robert Baldoni (Karen), Julie Ross (Alan), and Jerry Baldoni (Danetta). She was a proud grandmother to Paul Baldoni (Christina), Nicholas Baldoni, Jenny Armijo (DJ), Katie Broten (Jens), Anna Novick (Nick), and Emily Baldoni (Jason), and a cherished great-grandmother to Tyler Lund, Charlotte Armijo, Tommy Armijo, Riley Broten, Noah Novick and Andrew Novick.
Jeannie was a woman of deep faith and compassion, known for her kindness and her gift for making friends wherever she went. After marrying Tom, she left her job at the Credit Union to help run the family restaurant in Gallup, NM, and later in Santa Fe at the airport, where the family put down roots and created lifelong bonds with neighbors and the community.
An active member of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Jeannie joined the choir in 1983 and found great joy singing both locally and abroad with the UNM University Choir. A convert to Catholicism, she was committed to instilling strong values and faith in her children, ensuring they received their sacraments and remained close to the Church.
Jeannie's legacy is one of love, faith, and unwavering kindness. She believed in always looking for the good in people and taught her family to respect and cherish others. Her generous spirit and gentle heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church on Friday, April 25th, with the Rosary at 10:30 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, April 28th at 1:30 PM, reunited with her beloved Tom.

My name is Stephanie and I had the great privilege of being Jean's friend and helper the last years she lived at home. Jean was so much fun to just hang out with, we'd sit in her room watching tv. She got me watching shows I'd probably never watch like My 90 day fiancee and Dr Pimple Popper
When the family would go camping in Jemez I'd drive us up there to spend the day so she could still feel apart of everyone camping. We'd go visit her friend Gwen and have lunch or do an outing with her and her caregiver. We did lots of shopping for sure and going out to eat. She really enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching and talking to the people going by. Wr do live in a very friendly neighborhood and she was well liked. We sit out there and have long conversations about all sorts of topics from what was going on in the world to family stuff to just plane gossip. She liked staying current on what was happening by reading the paper each morning then doing the crossword puzzle the rest of the day. I will miss Jean and her care and compassion. She knew how to listen and that made things more tolerable in my life. Her perspective made so much sense on issues in family life.
Jean Baldoni, you my friend, will be greatly missed by many. As a child of God, she has risen
