Emily Navarro Leyvas passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 99. She lived a long, beautiful, and fruitful life filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Emily brought joy to everyone around her and will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the values she instilled in those she raised. A hard worker through and through, Emily led by example, teaching her children and grandchildren the importance of perseverance, kindness, and resilience. She was a guiding force in the lives of many, not only raising her own children but helping raise others in the family as well.
Her influence shaped generations, and her legacy continues through the lives she touched. Emily was known for being an extraordinary cook. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and she could often be found there early in the morning, long before anyone else was awake, preparing meals with love. She passed down her cooking skills to many in the family, who now continue her traditions in their own kitchens.
Emily was preceded in death by her adoring husband, David, and her beloved daughter Dee. She leaves behind a large, loving family, for whom she was the precious matriarch. She is survived by Dee’s daughters, Erin (and her children) and Missy (and her children); her daughter Loretta, and her children Jason (with his wife and children), Marlana, Elissa (and her daughter), and Angie; her son David, and his children David and Hannah; her daughter Renie, and her daughters Tara (with her husband and children) and Mia; and her daughter Teresa, and her sons Michael and Ryan. She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Emily’s life was truly blessed, her love forming the roots of a strong and growing family tree. She will be deeply missed and forever honored.
