Emily Kay Madden, 80, of Shelbyville passed away on Sunday October 15, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4-6 P.M. at Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Kay's remains will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at a later date.
Kay was born on October 30, 1942, in Shelbyville, TN to parents Estil Love Foster and Avis Royal Hummel Foster.
Kay retired after 35 years as a Manger / Line worker at American Can (Albea). Kay was a member of First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, TN. She also belonged to the Bedford County Historical Society. She was liked by everyone who knew her and her laughter was a trademark. She welcomed all people & animals as friends.
Kay is survived by a son: Michael Madden, granddaughter; Madison Madden (fiancé Andy Huffer) of Shelbyville, TN, sister-in-law Henrietta Barnard, special friends: Sandra Daniel, Cynthia Ashley, and Peggy Helton.
Along with her parents Kay was preceded in death by her son Bobby Madden.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Destiny Dog Rescue 202 East Highland St Shelbyville, TN 37160
