Emily Elizabeth Rivera

Emily Elizabeth Rivera was granted her angel wings on February 7th 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Emily had touched in some way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Emily's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile and vivid laughter could mend a broken heart. Emily was put on this earth to bring joy to those who met her. If she wasn't entertaining younger kids with her loving nature, she was amusing adults with her warm humor. Her favorite pastimes were playing volleyball, dancing, and swimming. Singing, however, was Emily's undeniable talent. Her angelic voice brought peace and harmony to those who heard it. Emily never let a day go by without dreaming big, having fun and making others happy. With Emily's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her contagious laughter, she will forever remain in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to know her. Emily is survived by her loving parents, Judith and Jose Rivera and brother Matthew Rivera. A memorial will be held Tuesday February 18, 2014 from 6-9pm at Mary Star of the Sea Church in San Pedro, Ca. A mass will be held on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at 10:30am. Immediately following the mass we will meet at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca. PLEASE WEAR WHITE OR PASTEL COLORS AS WE ARE CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF AN ANGEL. Due to the limited space at the mausoleum, in lieu of flowers, contributions made to the Rivera Family will go to the children's diabetes foundation.
