EMMA MARIE SHOCKLEY

EMMA MARIE SHOCKLEY, 24, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on Saturday July 8, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Feb. 7, 1999, Emma was the daughter of Adrienne Smith and Roland Lee Shockley, both surviving. Emma is an alumnus of South Side High School where she graduated with honors in the International Baccalaureate program with a concentration in French. She was privileged to be selected as a foreign exchange student studying the summer of her Junior year in France. Emma participated in the Women's Volleyball team while at South Side. Emma was a talented musician with formal training in piano. She could easily pickup most instruments and play well. Currently she was continuing her education with enrollment in nursing school with a goal to graduate as an RN in 2024. Emma was employed as a Nurses Aide at Parkview Hospital - Randallia and most recently as a Sales Associate at Macy's in the Jewelry Department. Emma is remembered by those close to her as having a warm glowing smile, which put others at ease. She loved playing with and entertaining her younger nephew, Zaiden Smith, and cousins. Emma was at her best when outdoors in nature or at the lake boating, skiing or tubing. Emma was a great lover of animals, having pets of all varieties over the years. Most of all, her favorite was anything purple. Emma is survived by her parents; grandparents, Anne and Stephen Smith; her brother, Rowan Smith; her aunts, Rachel Smith and Denea Shockley; great-uncle, Randy Tudor; great-aunt, Marcy McLean; and numerous cousins. Visitation for friends and family is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Private graveside services for the immediate family will occur on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Lindenwood Cemetery.
