Emma Tillery Obituary

Talladega-Mrs. Emma Earline Tillery was born in Talladega, AL. on July 11, 1951, to the late Rudolph Earl Moore and Jewel Moore. She was a lifelong resident of Talladega. She lived in Chandler Springs for 53 years. She was a homemaker for most of her life. After her children were adults, she started working as a caregiver. She cared for many people including her late husband. She loved caring for and helping others. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, and working outside with her flowers. She was always coming up with projects for others to help her accomplish. She loved her family and friends dearly. Mrs. Tillery is preceded in death by her husband: Larry J. Tillery; 2 sons: Willie and Junior Tillery; 2 sisters: Sara Shirey and Linda Moore; 1 brother: Edward Moore. She is survived by her daughter: Carol Hendon (Ricky); sister: Betty Wheeler; 3 grandchildren: Caleb Hendon (Brittany), Joshua Hendon (Maggie), Rodney Tillery; 4 great-grandchildren: Emma, Isabella, Lucas, Johnny Hendon; 2 sisters-in-law: Sue Miller and Jean Mitchell; and a host of other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel for visitation. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:00am in the chapel at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. Burial will be at Wewoka Cemetery with William Miller, Adam Moore, Alvin Shirey, George Shirey, Robert Shirey, and Roger Shirey serving as pallbearers. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
