Emmanuel (Manny) Lessor, 53, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2024 after a long illness with NAFLD. He was predeceased by both his father Gustave J. Lessor and his mother Rita A. Hickey and is survived by his siblings Deborah Lessor of Ludlow MA., Dawn Lessor of Murphy, NC. and Gustave Lessor of Stafford Springs, CT. He also leaves a brother-in-law Matthew Hicking and nieces and nephews Brandy McHugh, Sven Lessor, Brant Hicking, Jade Hicking and Cole Hicking. He leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Emmanuel lived a quiet life and never left his childhood home. While he fought bravely to combat his illness, towards the end he needed care and was very grateful to have his brother so close and who was able to care for him. He loved his family and always made time to go to Brant and Jade's sports and school events. He was a dedicated school bus driver for the town of Somers CT since 2003. He loved everything about his job including his coworkers, the students and their parents who would always think of him at the holidays and the end of the year with gifts, cards and kind words. He truly appreciated his students and saved many of the tokens of appreciation and cards that he was given over the past 20 years of driving. Aside from his family and his job, the thing he loved most were his animals. He leaves behind his dog Kali and cat Stoker to be cared for by his brother, Gus. There won't be any funeral services as Emmanuel was a quiet and private person. If anyone would like to make donations in his name to an organization, that would be a kind gesture and those can be made to the American Liver Foundation. Mostly I know he would like people to be aware of the dangers of NAFLD. If he could help even one person avoid what happened to him his death won't be in vain. So, please take a minute to do a quick google search and read about it and then take care of your livers.

Manny was a co-worker of mine in Somers. I was new in the last few years and found him the sweetest most genuine person. Always kind, always a good word. He loved "his kids" and seemed to love his Job. We got to meet his sweet dog which was a reflection on his gentle spirit. I watched his illness take a toll on him but it never took his smile or joy. Rest in peace in heaven Manny. You are missed.

Manny,

Thank you for being the absolute best bus driver there was! His kind heart and spirit will forever be cherished and missed. I will never forget his endless imagination story´s he would tell us kids on the bus, like how he loves his box house and living with his pet unicorn. Manny always was there for the kids. Matter the time of day. He truly loved his job and cared so much for us kids. Thank you Manny for everything.

Manny was my bus driver in Somers from 2005-2007. He played a pivotal role in those early elementary school days- Arranging our bus seats according to who was friends and who was "dating" each week, had to be tricky. He was always patient when we´d practice our 4th grade chorus songs over and over and over. My family appreciated how much he cared about all of us. He will be missed! My thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

Manny was my family´s bus driver since we entered the Somers Public School system. I was honored to have met him and been able to experience the joy he brought to us. He had a smile on his face every time he drove our bus, and I am deeply sorry to hear he has passed. My deepest condolences go out to his family members, and I hope that all of you may find solace in this tragedy.
