James Lessor passed away January 19, 2026, at the age of 88 at Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moodus, CT.

Jim grew up in Cromwell and upon marrying Philomena (Cookie) Santangelo of Middletown, he resided there many years until his health required his move to Chestelm Health and Rehab. Jim served in the U.S. Army in South Korea. Upon his return he became a prison guard at Montville State Prison, rising to the rank of Captain until his retirement. After retiring he worked for the City of Middletown.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ruth (Prindle) Lessor, his wife Philomena (Cookie) Santangelo Lessor, his daughter Karen Kozlowski of Boise, Idaho, his brothers Glenn, John, and Paul Lessor.

Jim is survived by his son-in-law Christopher and granddaughters Zoey and Maggie Kozlowski of Boise, Idaho; his sisters Joanne Lessor of Cromwell and Patricia Tuccitto of Moodus and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on May 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown where full military honors will be accorded. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.

So sorry to hear of uncle Jimmy passing..he was an amazing man and beloved friend know to most as uncle Jimmy ..I had the pleasure of knowing him and was on his pool team .. love you uncle Jim you will be missed .
