EMMETT LANDRUM, age 67 of York, Alabama, was born November 5,1957 in Nanafalia; Marengo County, Alabama. to the blessed union of the late Charlie and Arcola Thompson Landrum. He transitioned peacefully on March 20,2025 at 2:07 p.m. in Montgomery, Alabama at Baptist Medical Center South. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Weatherly Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dan Richardson delivering the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation. Sister Bernice Washington will serve as Mistress of Order. Interment follows in Mount Herman Cemetery, Millville Road 19, also York, Alabama. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 28th) from 2-5:00 from the Weatherly Chapel.
As a child, Emmett united with Mount Herman Baptist Church, where he was baptized under the pastorate of the late Rev. Harvey. At an early age, he attended West End School and then Sumter High School, leaving as a teenager and enlisted in the National Guard. He served his country honorable for more than six years. Emmett then returned home to work in the auto industry where he was an accomplished mechanic and body shop employee with various companies throughout Alabama and Mississippi.
Those left to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: three sisters; Dorothy Landrum, Detroit, MI., Charlie Mae Hudson, Montgomery, AL., and Daisy Marie (Charles) Wilson of Meridian, MS; very special friends, Edward Fitch and Paula Stephens; a God daughter, Takisha K. Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
