Emmie Jean King entered eternal rest on April 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 2, 1958, in Newark, NJ, Emmie was the cherished daughter of Mamie Woodard and Johnnie Wicks. She is the second eldest of 8 children and spent her last years living in Bloomfield and East Orange, NJ.
Emmie attended Newark Public Schools and graduated from Barringer High School.
