Enrique V. Avila, age 87 of Glendale Heights, passed away surrounded by love ones on August 23, 2025.
Born in Ecuandureo, Michoacan Mexico, Enrique was the first in his family to journey to the United States, bravely paving the way for generations to follow. A true pioneer, he came with little more than determination, faith, and a vision for a better future. Through hard work, humility, and sacrifice, he laid a foundation that would forever change the legacy of his family.
For 60 years, Enrique was devoted to his beloved wife, Isabel, with whom he built a beautiful life grounded in love, respect, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised a family whose bond is a testament to their example - strong, faithful, and full of love.
He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who poured his heart into every role he held. His love for his family was deep and unconditional. Whether it was sharing words of wisdom, offering quiet strength, or simply sitting beside those he loved, his presence was a gift and a comfort.
A man of deep faith, Enrique lived each day guided by his belief in Jesus his Lord and Savior. His values were evident in the way he lived: with kindness, integrity, humility, and generosity. His life was his testimony - a living reflection of God's grace and mercy.
He leaves behind a legacy not only of love and faith, but of courage, resilience, and hope. He showed us what it means to lead by example, to keep faith through hardship, and to love without limits.
Enrique is survived by his devoted wife, Isabel, his children Arturo (Ana), Joaquin (Juanita), Leticia, Enrique Jr., late son Alejandro, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many cherished members of his extended family. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
A Visitation for Enrique will be held at DuPage Funeral Chapel (951 W. Washington Street, West Chicago) on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4-8 PM. Family and friends to gather at St. Isidore Catholic Church (427 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale) on Saturday, September 6th, for Mass at 9:30 AM.
