Enzanetta Armanella Kinzer, 89, of
Chula Vista, California, peacefully passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on July 5, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She had recently celebrated her upcoming 90th birthday surrounded by her entire family, honored as a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Zan was born on September 17, 1935, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Joseph and Lillian Kinzer. She spent her early years in Bismarck before her family relocated to Salem, Oregon when Zan was in high school, then later Lemon Grove, California.
She is survived by her six children-Maria (Carl), Joe (Jennifer), Amy (Marty), Jack (Megan), Mark (Adriel), and Grace (Eric); twenty-two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a cherished circle of faith and lifelong friends.
In 1962, Zan married the love of her life, John Paul Bibbo, whom she met in Monterey, California. They were married for 52 years until John's passing in 2015. Their devotion to each other and to their family was an enduring example of love and faith.
Zan earned her RN while serving in the U.S. Army for six years. She worked as a nurse before devoting herself full-time to raising her family, beginning in 1963. A natural nurturer and encourager, Zan raised six strong children and helped instill in them the values that defined the Bibbo legacy.
One of Zan's quiet superpowers was how she managed the family's finances with wisdom, grace, and unmatched discipline. Despite living on a single income for many years, she made it possible for all six children to attend private school and go on to college-never once, making the family feel like they were sacrificing. Her children grew up feeling rich in love, security, and opportunity, never fully aware of the careful budgeting, thoughtful planning, and quiet resourcefulness it took to make it all happen.
Zan's life overflowed with kindness, hospitality, and creativity. She had a gift for friendship and maintained deep, meaningful relationships with those around her. She loved walking with friends, reading historical fiction, and playing golf. However, she was perhaps best known for her handmade cards and crafts, especially her lovingly cross-stitched Christmas stockings for each grandchild.
Travel brought Zan joy, and though her adventures slowed after John's passing, she faithfully followed her grandchildren's activities-attending games, performances, and events with pride. She and John delighted in their roles as "Pa and Nana" and were the biggest fans of their growing family.
Zan was also deeply committed to serving others. She volunteered with Sharp HospiceCare, participated in Cursillo ministry, and offered her home as a refuge for anyone in need-whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. She quietly and faithfully walked out her Christian beliefs with grace and humility.
At the core of Zan's life was her unwavering faith in God and her deep love for her family. She believed that both were sacred gifts to be nurtured and treasured. Her legacy is one of devotion-to Christ, to her husband, to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to the countless lives she touched through kindness, service, and prayer.
Above all, Zan was a woman who understood and embraced God's gift of life-both here on earth and in the promise of eternity.
