Eric A. Blue, age 39 of Sauk Centre, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
No services will be held. A private family burial will be at a special place Eric picked out.
Eric Alan Blue was born January 30, 1986 in Fargo, North Dakota to Allan and Joleen (Mayotte) Blue. He grew up in Bemidji and later moved to Florida where he graduated from high school and began working at the U.S. Postal Service. After many years in Florida, he moved to Sauk Centre where he purchased a lake home and continued working for the U.S. Postal Service in St. Cloud. At age of 36 he was diagnosed with ALS and was forced to quit the Postal Service after 18 years of service.
Eric loved being in nature and in the woods and taking in all the smells. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting in the woods. He also enjoyed riding motorcycle and in his later years, cooking meals with his mom after his dad passed away unexpectedly.
He was a proud member of the Bad River Tribe of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
Survivors include his mother, Joleen (Mayotte) Blue of Sauk Centre; brother, Ian Blue of St. Joseph; and his dog, Kota which was his best friend.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Allan Blue; grandparents; three aunts; and two uncles.
