Martha "Bunny" Askew Brady

Martha “Bunny” Askew Brady, age 78 of Sauk Centre, passed away in the early morning of December 24, 2025 after a month of deterring health at the Cura Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Life service is planned in North Carolina this summer.

Martha Elizabeth Askew was born March 1, 1947 in Norfolk, Virginia to Bennet and Mary (Arrington) Askew. Bunny was a 1965 graduate of Ahoskie High School where she had lived with her beloved grandmother, Martha Askew. After her marriage, she moved to Winton, North Carolina where she worked in the Register of Deeds office until her retirement in 2009. After her retirement, Bunny moved to Minnesota to live near her sister, Robin, and brother-in-law, Tom. She made many friends with her sense of humor, southern pride, and artistic talents.

Survivors include her son, Preston Brady of Colerain, North Carolina; granddaughter, Brooke Brady of Ahoskie, North Carolina and grandson, Bentley Brady of Colerain; brothers, Morris (Turk) Askew of Aulander, North Carolina, and Nick Askew of Orlando, Florida: and sisters, Robin (Tom) Neal of New Munich and Phyllis Forehand of Colerain, North Carolina.

Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Bennet and Mary Askew.
