Eric “Lance” Dartez passed away peacefully, on October 5, 2025, with family at his side.
Lance, a lifelong resident of Moss Bluff and a graduate of Sam Houston High School, he loved being a partner and loving father. He enjoyed every opportunity to be outdoors, hunting. To know Lance was to know that his favorite thing to do was talk. He could hold a conversation with anyone. You should just make sure you had time to talk, because you could be there a while.
He leaves to cherish his memory his life partner, Ann Belanger and son, Jason Belanger; mother, Bertha Richard Peet (Norman) all of Moss Bluff; sister, Tessie Dartez Dupuis (Randall); nieces, Brittney Legendre (Brant) and Amy Jo Materne (Bradley) all of Lake Charles; and several great nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter L Dartez and grandparents, Cyprien and Bernice Gary and Eunice and Mary Frieu Dartez
Family and friends will be welcomed at 1:00pm on Friday October 10, 2025, at Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home on 5th Avenue. A rosary will be recited at 1:30pm with the service to begin at 2:00pm. Deacon Paul Gregory will officiate.
