Greg's greatest pride and deepest love was his daughter, Sidney. He adored her beyond measure and never missed a moment to speak of her with love and admiration. Their bond was unbreakable, and his love for her was evident in everything he did. He was so proud of his "Pumpkin." Sidney was truly the light of his life.
Greg also shared unwavering love with his wife Sharon. Their bond was a testament to what love, partnership, and friendship can be. Together they created a life full of laughter and love. One of their greatest joys was traveling together, exploring new places, and making unforgettable memories. From quiet getaways to family vacations, every journey was filled with laughter, love, and shared wonder - beautiful moments that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them.
Greg also cherished his pipeline family. The brotherhood he found on the job was more than just coworkers; it was a second family. He worked hard, loved what he did, and formed lifelong friendships along the way. His work family held a special place in his heart, and he often spoke of them with pride, respect, and gratitude.
Greg was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love knew no limits. He never met a stranger, greeting everyone with a smile, a story, and genuine warmth that made people feel seen and cared for. Greg had a lifetime of close friends and family who meant the world to him, and he meant the world to them. He saw a friend in every face and his door and heart were always open. He had a heart that loved deeply and laughed freely. He was selfless and passionate about being with his loved ones and lived his life grounded in faith and compassion. His legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and deep devotion to those he held dear. He will live on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Even in the hardest times he could always find something to smile about. His positivity was contagious, his presence comforting, and his spirit unshakable.
We will miss him more than words can say, but we find peace in knowing he is now in the arms of the lord, watching over us with that same warm smile we came to love.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dartez; his daughter, Sidney Dartez and her fiancé, Cooper Derouen; his stepchildren, Christine Broussard and her husband, Seth, and Trent Herpin and his wife, Jessica; his step grandchildren, Dax and Colton Broussard and Corey and Edwin Herpin; his siblings, Kent Dartez and his wife, Trisha, Kevin Dartez and his wife, Maria, David Dartez and his wife, Kim, and Alex Dartez and his wife, Millie, a host of extended family and friends, and his loyal pups, Dude and Marshie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Earl "Snow" Dartez and the former Peggy Melancon; his paternal grandparents, Pierre Dartez and Marie Mire; and maternal grandparents Alex Melancon and Alma Guilbeaux.
