Eric Daniel Depoorter, 65, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at his home in West Branch surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Funeral mass will b held 10 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eric Depoorter Memorial Fund.

Eric was born February 4, 1960 in Port Byron, Illinois the son of Lawrence and Joan (Blackwell) Depoorter. He attended Riverdale High School in Port Byron, Illinois. He proudly served in the United States Marines. On October 6, 1987 he was united in marriage to Patricia Jo Graves in West Branch.

Eric was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, western movies and his family.

He is survived by his wife Patty of West Branch, 5 children: Cory (Abbey) Depoorter of West Branch, Dalton Depoorter of Shueyville, Courtney (Christian) Laing of West Branch, Jessica Depoorter of Iowa City and Sabree Depoorter of West Branch. 8 grandchildren: Brayden, Gabriel, Brooklyn, Elijah, Alejandro, Briella, Adalynn and Scarlett He is also survived by his mother: Joan Doudna of Ozawkie, Kansas, five siblings: Denise Michaels of New Windsor, Il, Michelle (Robert) Faris of Ozawkie, KS, Arthur Depoorter of East Moline, Illinois, Joan (Darrell) Dewitt of Rapid City, IL and Marcia (Dan) Rosencutter of Ozawkie, Kansas as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence, 3 brothers: Greg, Vincent and Nathan, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents and a two sister in laws: Leslie Depoorter and Barbara Depoorter.
