Marvin Wayne Brick was born October 30, 1938, in Martelle, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Doris (Countryman) Brick. He graduated from West Branch High School in 1957. On November 22, 1958, he was united in marriage to Karen Krafock in Kahoka, Missouri. Karen preceded him in death in 2024.

In 1963, Marv joined West Branch Oil Co. and later purchased the business, operating it for 27 years. He also owned and operated Marv's Auto Sales and together, Marv and Karen built and operated The Ice Cream Shop.

Marv proudly served on the West Branch Fire Department from 1964 to 1983, including time as Assistant Chief. He enjoyed anything with a motor - motorcycles, boats, and snowmobiles - and was also a licensed pilot. He was actively involved in Brick Racing alongside his family spending many nights in the shop and at the race track. An enthusiast of antique cars, Marv loved collecting, restoring, buying, and selling them, and was a member of the Pacers Car Club. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and NASCAR fan. Following his retirement, he spent 14 years driving a school bus, continuing his service to the community.

He is survived by his three children: Lu Miles (Dave Bonner) of Shueyville; Darrall Brick (Nicki) of West Branch; and Gerry Brick (Leslie) of West Branch; three grandchildren, Amy Koehn (Daren), Kendra Miles (Chad Johnson), and Dawson Brick; and four great-grandchildren, Brackyn, Kallyn, Joryn, and Kinnick. He is also survived by his sister, Marlene Gann of Lamar, Oklahoma, brother and sister-in-law, Verlyn and Janis Krafock of Lowden; sister-in-law, Arlene Krafock of Clarence; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen; his brother, Marty Brick; brothers-in-law, Chuck Gann, Bricen Krafock, Earl Bark and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Bark and Bethany Krafock.
