Eric Drake Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bollinger Funeral Home - Charleston on Mar. 20, 2026.
Eric David Drake, 42, of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his parents home from a short illness.

He was born April 27, 1983 in Charleston, WV. Son of, Poston and Jane (King) Drake.

Eric was a graduate of Capital High School and WVU Montgomery, and enjoyed a long career as a Senior-Master Technician and Qualified Instructor for the Ford Motor Corporation. He was also heavily involved in the Buckskin Council of Kanawha Valley of the Boy Scouts of America, and served as Assistant Scout-Master for his son's troop.

Eric was a life-long fan of the Cleveland Browns, and enjoyed many snowy Sunday afternoons in "The Dogpound" with his friends.

He loved being outdoors, and especially fishing. He could be found by a lake or stream whenever he had the chance.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his son, Dylan Drake and his brother, Adam Drake as well as a host of other family and friends.

He was a good man, a good person, and a good father. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

At his request Cremation has been observed and there will be no services held.

As he was a fervent animal lover and advocate, the family asks that in lieu of flowers any remembrances be communicated as a donation in his name to the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311 or www.adoptcharleston.com/support#donate-today.

Bollinger Funeral Home, 420 Lee Street, W., Charleston, WV 25302 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
